As the year comes to a close, we at Famarry are excited to see the up and coming wedding photography trends for 2017! The last few years gave way to lavish luxury and beautiful intricate weddings but what will next year bring? These are the trends we've noticed:

1. #Greenery

The announcement of Pantone's color of the year for 2017, "Greenery", has already inspired many photo shoot locations and venues. Natural backdrops such as forest and floral settings seem to be on the rise and we predict they will be even more popular in the upcoming year. According to Pantone, the color is supposed to symbolize new beginnings and is refreshing and revitalizing.

2. Old is IN

Dresses, venues, and themes — Oh my! We're seeing more and more wedding dress designs, photo shoots, even entire venues dedicated to appreciating the vintage style. The vintage and classic styles are often accompanied by beautiful lacy motifs and vintage photo filters. If you're having a photo shoot in 2017, why not ask your photographer to try this elegant and timeless technique?

3. Made for Social Media

With the quality of smartphone cameras rivaling those of point-and-shoots, guests are increasingly becoming a part of capturing wedding day moments. From beautiful table settings and intricate cakes to the first kiss and bouquet toss, social media has made way for instant sharing of amazing wedding pictures! In the lead up to weddings we've also seen Instagram-inspired save-the-dates on the rise, and engagement photos shoots for customized wedding websites. More couples are choosing to use their own hashtags on Instagram and we are eagerly anticipating the new ways couples find to integrate social media into their weddings in 2017.
